❌ Don’t be greenwashed by the fashion industries deceitful marketing messages.

???? Today humanity uses the equivalent of 1.6 Earths to provide the resources we use and absorb our waste.

‼️This means it now takes the Earth one year and eight months to regenerate what we use in a year.

In 2021, Earth Overshoot Day fell on July 29.

Earth Overshoot Day marks the date when humanity has exhausted nature’s budget for the year.

For the rest of the year, we are maintaining our ecological deficit by drawing down local resource stocks and accumulating carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.

We use more ecological resources and services than nature can regenerate through overfishing, overharvesting forests, and emitting more carbon dioxide into the atmosphere than forests can sequester.

FORECAST MADE BY THE UK PARLIAMENT:

If we don’t change: By 2030 global apparel consumption is projected to rise by 63%, from 62 million tons today to 102 million tons—equivalent to more than 500 billion additional T-shirts.

The UN says that by 2050 the equivalent of almost three planets could be required to provide the natural resources needed to sustain current lifestyles given the growth in global population.
