Joy of clothes was founded by Michaela Jedinak and David Lethbridge.
Michaela has a unique range of experiences from the fashion, media and design industry in London, New York, Milan and Prague . She was the MD of Cosmopolitan in Prague where she deepened her passion for colour and style. In 2005 she founded one of the leading colour and style consultancies Joy of Colour www.joyofcolour.com. Joy of Clothes aims to share her experience with a wider audience.
Michaela believes that everyone is different and they should build on their own unique DNA rather than try to be a bad copy of someone elses. Nowadays there are so many fashion trends co-existing that there is something suitable for everyone. Michaela advises against following every single fashion trend. Dressing with style needs strategy and an understanding of your colouring and body shape. Joy of Clothes aims to make it easy for you to identify the fashion that works for you and your life style.
David has a classic consumer marketing background with over 8 years experience with Y&R, Nestle and Johnson & Johnson. Followed by over 15 years experience in the new media industry with BT, News International and his own startups. From 1999 - 2007 David was co-founder and CEO Confetti , one of the first wave of consumer internet businesses in the UK . Built Confetti into powerful content, community and commerce brand. E superbrand and winner of IPA advertising and DBA design awards Developed Confetti into a profitable multi-channel business including stores, catalogues and Confetti branded products and books generating revenue of nearly £10m and profitable for over 3 years. Currently CEO of the TheNod.com a celebrity web based startup due to launch summer 2009. Advisory board member of e-harmony.com
John Wright, web development
John is an experienced web developer and designer. He has been involved in website design/development for more than 10 years and has worked on web projects for Shell, BT, Axa, Starbucks, tree2mydoor.com, Punch Taverns and many other brands. John is the founder of London based design agency Creative Chamber.
Nik Thierry, web design and creative
Nik Thierry is a born lover of art and geekery and has married his passions by becoming an award winning web-designer. In addition to designing he loves tinkering with his Mac and listening to music (he has far too much Depeche Mode). He reads a lot of RSS feeds and watches QI daily to keep him in stacked up with useless facts. He works and plays at Creative Chamber.
Sharnita Nandwana, Illustrator
Sharnita Nandwana is a fashion designer and illustrator based in London. Graduating with an Honours degree in Fashion Design from the London college of Fashion, she has won awards and recognition from the likes of Giles Deacon, Matthew Williamson and Puma for her work. Sharnita also has experience styling women at Bodymetrics, a specialised made-to-measure jean service, catering to different body shapes. Working on Joy of Clothes, she will extend her understanding of fashion and fit together with her illustration skills, to provide readers with a visual understanding of the style advice offered.
Jane Duru, Writer
Jane Duru is a freelance writer based in London, who has written on a wide range of subjects, focussing mainly on fashion, film and travel for publications such as Dazed & Confused, Wallpaper* City Guides and Loaded magazine. Working on Joy of Clothes, she will be contributing regular blog posts featuring fashion advice,topical news and guest interviews.
