Neckline Factors - Face
The shape of your face is another important consideration in determining your ideal neckline.
If you have an oval and well proportioned face almost any neckline style is flattering to you as long as you have a normal neck in terms of length and width.
If you have an inverted triangle face shape try to choose wider necklines - ideally higher rather than lower e.g. high or wide collars, neckties, roll-necks (although these are best avoided if you have a short or wide neck). This way you’ll be able to make your face appear wider thanks to drawing a horizontal line near the neckline.
On the contrary, if your face is more of a pear shape you must avoid necklines styles like neckties, rolls, high or wide collars, because they will add volume to the fullest part of your face and make your face look unbalanced in comparison to your forehead. You should choose a neckline with a stronger vertical shape to balance the look e.g. V-neck, scoop, sweethearts.
