Works for any body shape and body size!

Great choice for most body shapes- just not for inverted triangle body shape

- Silk Crystal Clutch: £125.00
A special occasion clutch that works for all body shapes, just that a pear body shape is better adviced to carry it under their arms rather holding it. It is exactly the opposite for the inverted triangle.

- Bedford Buckle Purse: £99.00
It makes especially a great investment buys for women who have the dominant colour soft, warm and deep.

- Catwalk Ring Belt: £90.00
It is only suitable for women who have a normal to a long waist. A waist belt needs space to sit and fit. Otherwise it will be just moving up and down in the waist area.

Best for women with an average to long neck. No matter if it is thin or medium wide. Just not a good choice for women with a short and/or wide neck. Scarf need space to “breath” otherwise they clutter the little space between face and shoulder.

This bag trend started with Alexa Chung and it will stay on high trend alert as well for next season for autumn/winter.
Satchel Handbag
- It works for all body shape unless it comes with heavy embellishments , colour blocks or bright look at me colours. In that case the pear shape should avoid these types since it is drawing the attention to the wrong body part.
Satchel Shoulder bag
- Look out for the ones that have an adjustable shoulder strap that you can adjust, so that you it works for your shape.
- Neat Hourglass and Lean Columns can wear them as they like. Full hourglass should wear them not too close to their bust, Apple Shape should even lower the strap even more so it doesn’t add volume to their tummy area. Since most the shape is more squarish the rectangle shape should avoid to wear the satchel in the waist area- either higher or lower are best. The same stands for women with a short waist and for the inverted triangles- but for other reasons. The lower satchel sits the better, because it will balance off their broader shoulders. The higher it sits or the closer it gets to bust or shoulder the more volume it adds to that part.
- Best use is if it has as well a removable shoulder strap, so you put the bag to multi use.

The Maxi Dress is an Evergreen. Every year in fashion and loved by women of any body shape, size or age. Since the choices are so great Maxi Dresses are not anymore only choices for special occasions or for holidays. They have made their way into our day to day life. It is nowadays perfectly ok to wear Maxi Dresses for casual occasions, to dinner engagements, or as well at the pub and most popular now to choose a maxi dress for barbecues or any outings in the park- as long as the sun is shining. And since the movie Sex in the City 2 has been screened and we saw Carrie Bradshaw lounging in a green maxi dress on her couch while watching TV with her hubby we have discovered just another “Maxi Dress” occasion. With so many wear outs out of one dress your Maxi Dress should hit all the all the right boxes . It should suit your body shape, body size, neckline, bust and arm size. It is just another myth that as long as you get the right size in your maxi dress and it covers up your body that you don’t have to worry about a fit, because it is all the same. Style is noting without a fit. Otherwise it is back to all of the same: You are creating the wrong attention to the wrong features and creating the wrong effect to your visual body balance. So, make your next Maxi Dress into a keeper with maximum impact and wear it many versatile ways!
Neat Hourglass: Any style goes

Full Hourglass : Don’t hide your curves behind high neckline or Empire Lines. Show off your curves by following your body shape. You have already got the attention because of your curves, so don’t out do them with patterns thought out the dress. Less is more.

Apple : Your neckline is your trump card. So go for only lower necklines. Choose wider straps over spaghetti straps- it won’t give you enough support for your bust and they are too petite for your body shape. Choose only Empire Lines in your Maxi Dress, because they will give you room for your fullest point and as well as structure. Choose straight cuts over A- line, because they will make you look wider visually.

Pear: Strong shoulder and top details are required to balance the lower half. Strapless options or spaghetti straps are no nos. Empire lines work best for this shape and be easy on patterns and definitely stay clear of pleats, ruffles, layers on your lower half. Remember the drama stays on top only.

Inverted Triangle has exactly the opposite rule to a pear. Therefore the drama starts on the lower half. Best are strapless or spaghetti straps to make the broad shoulder less broad and absolutely a noes are one shoulder dresses! Waist or dropped waist lines are great choices while Empire Lines will be more complicated to pull it off. Choose an A-Line, Flare, Bubble shape dress rather a straight one. Pleats, busy pattern, fuzzy styles are all superb in the skirt part of the dress.

Lean Hourglass is all about adding volume and curves to their body shape. So, any clutter and volume around shoulders, bust and hips work well here . Straight lines as shift dresses need another thought, because they can make them quickly look like a tooth pick if they don’t balance it out with rounder patterns as floral print or horizontal stripes. Keep to smaller rather than big patterns.

Rectangle: Most important thing here is to create the illusion of a waist. Best are Empire Dropped Waist lines or Maxi dresses with a dopped sleeve line. Rounder patterns like floral or animal print are always better than abstract print. It will just make you more angular. Remember you don’t need edges but curves at the right places!

Last not least for women with big arms:
- Choose Maxi Dresses with elbow sleeve lines. As long as you wear a e.g bolero, shawl, jacket with your Maxi Dresses wide straps or strapless styles are good as well. Just avoid any petite styles such a patterns or straps that will just high light your big arms.
- Also, choose a loose fit sleeve line over a fitted one – especially when it has any pattern.

The swim wear is on and now “What to wear” with it?! Cover ups only make you look good when you choose the ones which complement your body shape . Many cover ups come in fun colours, patterns and comfort cuts. It can be tempting to mistake a comfort cut for the right fit. You know you have got the right fit when it follows your body shape by creating visual balance at the right places like highlighting your best features and minimizing the less good ones. The myth is simply not true that says you must be covering up your less good features with a beautiful or fun fabric. The only thing this does is add volume, bulk and attention to these parts.
There is a vast choice of cover ups available from halter dresses, kaftans, poncho, sarongs, shirt dresses, shorts, trousers, tunics- just to name a few.
Keep in mind that the dress codes between beach and pool life varies as well as lunch to afternoon or cocktail time. Go with what is appropriate for the location, occasion and time of the time of the day- looking out of place gets you the limelight but only for all the wrong reasons.

Since there are so many choices and each item varies with neck- sleeve and hemline it is difficult to give some general advice, which swim wear types suits which body shape best.
But in general you can say the following:
- Pear Shape should avoid sarongs and trousers as coverups and opt for kaftans with attention to shoulders, sleeveline and neckline
- Inverted Triangle should do exactly the opposite by avoiding kaftan choices and opt for trousers, mini skirts, sarongs to create visual balance with their broader shoulders.
- Rectangle should avoid any styles that is finishing on the waist. They need to look out for items and patterns that give them the illusion of a waist and a roundness like floral patterns.
- Lean columns need to add volume and roundness on their shoulders and hips. Therefore bulk and clutter work great in their cover ups.
- Neat Hourglass can wear what they like in their swimwear.
- Full Hourglass should focus on highlighting their curves by going for loose fit styles that follow their curves rather than hiding them.
- Apple should avoid any form of sarons or skirt. Best is to choose a Kaftan or Maxi Dress with a lower neckline with an Empire Style.
