This bag trend started with Alexa Chung and it will stay on high trend alert as well for next season for autumn/winter.
But how to wear it right? The Satchel can come as a handbag, shoulder bag or cross body bag- each of them come with their own set of rules.
Satchel Handbag
- It works for all body shape unless it comes with heavy embellishments , colour blocks or bright look at me colours. In that case the pear shape should avoid these types since it is drawing the attention to the wrong body part.
Satchel Shoulder bag
- Look out for the ones that have an adjustable shoulder strap that you can adjust, so that you it works for your shape.
- Neat Hourglass and Lean Columns can wear them as they like. Full hourglass should wear them not too close to their bust, Apple Shape should even lower the strap even more so it doesn’t add volume to their tummy area. Since most the shape is more squarish the rectangle shape should avoid to wear the satchel in the waist area- either higher or lower are best. The same stands for women with a short waist and for the inverted triangles- but for other reasons. The lower satchel sits the better, because it will balance off their broader shoulders. The higher it sits or the closer it gets to bust or shoulder the more volume it adds to that part.
- Best use is if it has as well a removable shoulder strap, so you put the bag to multi use.
